The Mass Save® program offers Massachusetts residents generous incentives and rebates to make their homes more energy efficient. Many locals are familiar with the program and have already taken advantage of the offers available, but there are still homeowners and renters that have yet to upgrade their homes. While there are Mass Save incentives that you probably hear about often, there are others that are not as widely known or just new to the program in 2022.
100% Off Insulation
Yes, there is 75% off insulation upgrades, but did you know there is also a 100% off incentive?
There are two ways to qualify for 100% off insulation for your Massachusetts home. If you are a landlord or renter of a property with 4 units of less, you can access the generous Mass Save insulation incentive if all units get a Home Energy Assessment – HomeWorks Energy can help!
The other way to qualify is based on income. If your annual household income falls within the range for the Mass Save income eligible programs, you could be eligible for 100% off insulation for your home. The income eligible program also offers no-cost replacement of your heating system or other inefficient appliances like clothes washers or refrigerators. If you’re unsure if you qualify for income eligible incentives, call (781) 305-3319 and we’ll help you figure everything out.
If you don’t qualify either way for 100% off insulation, you can still get 75% off insulation upgrades and use the Mass Save HEAT Loan to finance the leftover costs at 0% interest.
0% Financing for Barrier Removal
The Mass Save HEAT Loan is popular with customers who want to make updates to their home but want to pay it off in installments. We’ve helped many customers finance leftover insulation costs or the purchase and installation of a new heat pump system, for example. What’s new is that Massachusetts residents are now able to qualify for 0% financing opportunities for barrier remediation such as:
Knob and Tube Wiring – up to $10,000
Vermiculite – up to $10,000
Asbestos – up to $4,000
Mold – up to $4,000
Structural Concerns – up to $1,000
Combustion Safety – up to $1,000
If you have one (or more) of the barriers above, the Sponsors of the Mass Save program and HomeWorks Energy, a Mass Save partner, can help you solve the issues so that you can move forward with your HVAC installation or weatherization job.
Up to $10,000 in Heat Pump Rebates
Have you heard about the benefits of heat pump technology yet? A heat pump heats and cools your home with electricity by gathering warm air and pumping it inside your home or outside your home, depending on the season. It’s extremely efficient which is why it’s the focus of local and state energy efficiency programs. There are whole-home and partial-home options, along with ducted and ductless solutions that come in a variety of configurations. Starting in 2022, residents are eligible for up to $10,000 in heat pump rebates through the Mass Save program.
At HomeWorks Energy, we do our due diligence and ensure that you get a system that’s the right fit for your home. We also fill out the paperwork for you and apply all the rebates upfront, so it couldn’t be easier!
Renters are Eligible for the Mass Save Program
While the eligibility of renters is not new to the program, it is often overlooked. As a renter, you can sign up for a Home Energy Assessment without involving your landlord. You can get access to the no-cost items and custom home energy report, and if you’re interested in moving forward with any upgrades, we can facilitate the conversation with your landlord and work to get the other tenants on board to also complete an assessment. Upgrades that are made to the whole building will still help you save money and live more comfortably in your own unit.
At HomeWorks Energy, it’s our mission to get the word out about the generous rebates and incentives available to MA residents through the Mass Save program. We’re a one-stop-energy-efficiency-shop, so we can handle it all – from a Home Energy Assessment, to a Heating & Cooling Consultation, and all the way though any insulation projects or HVAC system installations. We even guide you through all the rebates and incentives to make sure you get everything you need.
