If you are a Massachusetts homeowner, renter, or landlord, the Mass Save® program is a great way for you to make your home or building more energy efficient.
Together, Berkshire Gas, Cape Light Compact, Eversource, Liberty Utilities, National Grid, and Unitil are the sponsors of the Mass Save program and their mission is to help Massachusetts residents save energy and money year-round.
The Mass Save program is funded by customers like you through a charge on your monthly energy bill, therefore participation in this program (and access to the best rebates and incentives) is of no additional cost to you.
Here are some of the best rebates, incentives, and discounts that are available to you, making home energy efficiency achievable and affordable – and easy links to access them all!
Eligibility for 0% financing
With the Mass Save HEAT Loan, you can get 0% financing for home energy efficiency improvements, up to $25,000 for 7 years. You could use this 0% interest opportunity for upgrades like insulation, heating and water heating equipment, central A/C, heat pumps, and more. To learn more about 0% financing, sign up for a Home Energy Assessment here.
Heating and Cooling Rebates
The sponsors of the Mass Save program are offering up to $2,750 in rebates for a variety of heating and cooling equipment. If you’re looking to replace your system, this is a great way to cut down the cost so that it’s not such a big expense. If you are curious about what type of new system would be best for your home, schedule a no-cost Heating & Cooling Consultation here and learn about how you can access these big rebates.
Refrigerator and Freezer Rebates
Did you know that 95% of a freezer or refrigerator can be recycled into things such as cement, building materials, or consumer goods? If you have an old refrigerator or freezer that is still working but wasting energy, you can recycle it through the Mass Save recycling program. You can get no-cost pickup and removal, plus a $75 rebate toward a new energy-efficient model. So far, the Mass Save recycling program has prevented more than 100,000 refrigerators and freezers from entering landfills. To take advantage of this offer, click here.
Up to 100% Off Insulation
According to the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), 90% of U.S. homes are not properly insulated. Through the Mass Save program, homeowners, renters, and building owners can access 75-100% off insulation upgrades to help save energy and money year-round. With improved insulation, you can experience reduced noise levels from outside, lower energy costs year-round, better humidity control, fewer insects and pests entering the home, and more! To access your insulation discount, sign up for a Home Energy Assessment here.
Other Home Appliance Rebates
In addition to rebates for heating and cooling equipment, you can also access rebates through the Mass Save program for clothes dryers and washers, dehumidifiers, room air cleaners, room air conditioners, and more. Learn about the variety of rebates available to you here.
100% Off Air Sealing Upgrades
“If you added up all the leaks, holes and gaps in a typical home’s envelope, it would be the equivalent of having a window open every day of the year,” says ENERGY STAR. When air moves in and out of your home, not only does it create uncomfortable drafts and inconsistent home temps, but it wastes money and energy. The sponsors of the Mass Save program are offering 100% off (that’s right, no cost to you!) air sealing upgrades to eligible MA residents. All you have to do is sign up for a Home Energy Assessment here.
No-Cost Energy Efficiency Items
One of the great things about participating in the Mass Save program is that you can start saving energy and money immediately. During a Home Energy Assessment, you get access to a variety of no-cost items that a Home Energy Specialist will install for you on the spot. You can get items like programmable thermostats, advanced power strips, faucet aerators, and energy-saving shower heads – all at no-cost to you. All of these energy efficiency items allow households to reduce their daily energy use which helps with monthly costs. There are also rebates available for smart thermostats, like $100 off. Schedule your assessment now to get these no-cost items.
No-Cost Mass Save Home Energy Assessment
To access many of the incentives and rebates mentioned above, you must complete a Home Energy Assessment. Sign up here for a virtual or in-person assessment with HomeWorks Energy and we’ll show you how your home is consuming and losing energy. You get a custom home energy report and you’ll learn where the opportunities are for energy savings – and all of it is no-cost to you. When your assessment is completed, you get access to eligible rebates and incentives. The best part is that we will fill out all of the rebate paperwork for you and apply all the discounts upfront.
