Did you know that a small charge on your energy bill helps make Mass Save® Home Energy Assessments available to the majority of Massachusetts residents at no cost?

To date, the program has saved 12.2 MWh of energy and reduced CO2 usage by 3.7 million metric tons – the equivalent of taking 795,650 cars off the road!

The more residents participate, the closer we get to achieving our state-wide goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Here are the 5 easy steps to do your part while saving energy and money in your home:

1. Schedule an Assessment

Here at HomeWorks, we make signing up for a no-cost Mass Save Home Energy Assessment easy. You can call (781) 305-3319 to schedule over the phone or book an appointment online here. It takes less than 5 minutes. You may also see us out in the community taking signups in person, so be sure to stop and say hello!

2. Get Approved

To be eligible for a Mass Save Home Energy Assessment, you must live in a single-family home or a 2- to 4-unit building in Massachusetts and be served by one of the participating Mass Save sponsoring utilities.* If you have had a Home Energy Assessment in the last 2 years, you aren’t eligible to sign up again. Our team will verify your eligibility with your local utility company and call you if any questions arise. If you live in a building with 5 or more units, click here.

3. Complete Your No-Cost Home Energy Assessment

During your appointment, a Home Energy Specialist will do a thorough walk-through of your home. Their audit includes a health and safety check and a detailed assessment of your home’s energy use. They will also take note of any no-cost items you qualify for and install them with your permission. These can include water-saving shower heads, programmable thermostats, smart power strips, and more.

At the end of your assessment, the HomeWorks Specialist will walk you through a custom home energy report with their findings. They will discuss which energy efficiency upgrades are right for your home, tell you what Mass Save rebates and incentives you may qualify for, and make recommendations to reduce your home’s energy consumption year-round. This no-cost assessment is your chance to find out more about your home and discuss upgrades with an expert, so be sure to ask any questions you have!

4. Take Advantage of Rebates and Incentives

As part of your custom energy report, your Home Energy Specialist will give you information about accessing generous Mass Save rebates and incentives, which could include 75-100% off recommended insulation upgrades, no-cost sealing of air leaks in your home, and up to $10,000 in heat pump rebates with 0% financing (up to $50,000 for 7 years) for energy efficiency upgrades including heat pumps.
